The Center for Ignatian Spirituality at Boston College, founded in 1998, communicates the vision and history of the University's Jesuit mission and the spirituality of St. Ignatius Loyola. 
 

Center's Mission

19th Annotation

The 19th Annotation of the Spiritual Exercises are a compilation of meditations, prayers, and contemplative practices developed by St. Ignatius Loyola to help people deepen their relationship with God.

Alpha Sigma Nu

Founded in 1915, Alpha Sigma Nu is the honor society of Jesuit institutions of higher education that recognizes those students who distinguish themselves in scholarship, loyalty, and service.

Breathe

Breathe is a half day retreat where participants get to take a break from their lives. It is a day of silence, reflection and quiet. A day to clear one’s mind and thoughts.

Discernment in the Workplace

This 6-week workshop helps members of the Boston College community understand the art and skills of discernment as an organic part of their work life.

Ignatian Silent Retreat

This 4-day Ignatian Silent Retreat offers relevant presentations based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, followed by suggestions for prayer and abundant time for reflection.

Foundations

“Foundations” is a program addressed to people who want to know the basic elements of the Ignatian prayer and the structure of the Spiritual Exercises.

Prayers at the Center

Following a long-time tradition, the Center for Ignatian Spirituality offers noontime prayer sessions during the liturgical seasons of Advent and Lent.

Jesuit Fellow

The Center for Ignatian Spirituality offers an in-residence “Jesuit Fellow” position for those interested in working with the Center and other pastoral ministries.

The Trail

The Center for Ignatian Spirituality, Intersections, and the Museum of African American History invite you to walk the Black Heritage Trail and Museum to reflect about change, challenge, and transformation.

Lectures

The Center for Ignatian Spirituality hosts a variety of talks and panel discussions each year focusing on faith, discernment, and Ignatian spirituality.

Compañía Pilgrimage

This pilgrimage seminar encourages faculty and administrators to explore their vocation as educators, and culminates in a trip to Spain and Rome to retrace some of the key steps of Ignatius Loyola's life journey.
