While Luke's Gospel is known as the "Gospel of prayer," prayer also plays an important role in Mark's Gospel. Not only does Mark present Jesus as the model of someone who prays, he also emphasizes the significance of prayer among the new family who are gathered around Jesus, committed to doing God's will.
