Organizational Meeting for Student Advisory Panel
Date: September 18, 2007
Are you interested in religion and politics in American society? The Boisi Center for Religion and American Public Life at Boston College invites you to join its Student Advisory Panel.
Panel members have three primary responsibilities:
(1) Attend semi-monthly meetings to discuss current issues in religion and public life (and the Boisi Center's related events) with fellow students and the Boisi Center staff. Lunch will often be provided.
(2) Attend our major panel and lecture events (see our upcoming events), and, at your discretion, our lunch colloquia.
(3) Help publicize the Center's larger events and plan student-run events. This semester the Student Advisory Panel will sponsor a student debate about gambling, in advance of the Center's major conference on the topic in late October.
In exchange, you get to speak with a wide range of eminent scholars whom you might otherwise only see behind a lectern; a chance to shape the Center's future plans; and a nice line on your resume -- not to mention a few free lunches!
