Green2Go FAQs
G2G is an easy, efficient way to get food to-go without polluting the environment or contributing to carbon emissions through disposable to-go products.
Last semester, ReusePass recorded that students around the US helped save more than 53,800 lbs of waste from going to landfills, conserved more than 361,400 gallons of water, and saved nearly 375,900 lbs of greenhouse gas emissions from going out into the atmosphere. That’s a HUGE impact!
No! There is no cost to using the program. Just drop off your empty container within 3 days to a designated return bin. Unreturned containers are liable for a $5 fee.
No! All containers should be returned empty to any G2G return bin, located at Lower, Mac, Stuart, Addie's, and Eagle’s Nest. The BC Dining team will collect, sanitize, and scan-in all returned containers. You MUST use a fresh G2G container washed by BC Dining every time you eat.
To sign up, simply go to app.ReusePass.com, select Boston College, and enter the details requested.
Then, after ordering your meal in a Green2Go container, show the cashier your unique ReusePass QR code. You will receive text messages from ReusePass reminding you to return your container. You are able to check out multiple containers at once. However, a $5 late fee will be charged to your account for each container that is returned past the due date.
Pro Tip: add your ReusePass QR code to your mobile wallet for easier access!
G2G containers can be used at any station or salad bar in Lower, McElroy, Stuart, Addie's, or Eagle's Nest.
Containers are due back 3 days after check-out, but we recommend returning them as soon as you're done so they can get sanitized and recirculated in the Green2Go ecosystem!
If you fail to return a container by the due date, you will receive a text message reminding you to return the container ASAP to avoid a failed container rental. Once a container is marked as late, you'll have 48 hours to return it before the rental window closes. Once the rental window is closed, your student account will be charged a $5 late fee.
Don't worry - the ReusePass website makes it easy to see container statuses and due dates.! Simply login to your account to see your current status.
G2G containers that are shown under the “Due soon” section of your ReusePass account are containers you have recently checked out that are still within the 3-day checkout window.
If you fail to return a container within the 3-day window, the status will transition from “Due soon” to “Late.” Once a container is marked as “Late,”, you have 48 hours to return it or your account will be charged a $5.00 fee.
Every time you check out a G2G container, you have 3 days to return to a designated return location. Containers that are not returned within 3 days are marked as “Late” on your account.
Once a container is marked as Late, you’ll receive an SMS reminder to return that container ASAP. If you do not return a container within 48 hours of it being marked as late, the status will display as “Charge Pending” on your ReusePass account and your account will be flagged to be charged $5.00.
It may take up to 4 weeks for a late charge to be posted on your dining account after the status transitions to “Charge submitted.”
For questions about charges, please contact bcdining@bc.edu.
