Four Carroll School departments and programs in the top ten, according to U.S. News
The annual Finance Conference returned to Boston College with a roster of influential speakers on Friday, May 12. Opening with a welcome reception on Thursday evening in Gasson Hall, the all-day conference focused on topics such as the economy, geopolitical conditions, climate change, and the challenges ahead for investors.
Don’t miss the Dorothy Margaret Rose Knight Economic Keynote Discussion entitled “The Problem with Meritocracy,” given by bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell. Watch the speech “The State of the Globe: A New Geopolitical Landscape,” presented by Meghan O'Sullivan, the Jeane Kirkpatrick Professor of the Practice of International Affairs and director of the Geopolitics of Energy Project at Harvard University’s Kennedy School. A talk by energy and environmental expert Lawrence Makovich '77, titled “Climate Change: Confronting the Costs and Benefits of Harnessing Energy,” is also available to view.
In addition to the talks, recordings of two panels are viewable. Richard Clarida, Global Economic Advisor at PIMCO, and Marc Seidner '88 P '24, CIO of Non-traditional Strategies at PIMCO, hosted the panel entitled “Economic Overview and Implications.” Marc Seidner also co-hosted “Time to Rewrite our Investment Playbook?” with Richard Bernstein, CEO/CIO of Richard Bernstein Advisors LLC.
