Justin Henriques

Associate Professor

Biography

Dr. Justin Henriques is an Associate Professor in the Human-Centered Engineering department at Boston College. He holds a Ph.D. and a Masters in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia's School of Engineering and Applied Science, and a Master of Urban & Environmental Planning from the School of Architecture. He holds an undergraduate B.S. in Integrated Science and Technology (applied science) and a B.A. in Philosophy.

Prior to joining the faculty at Boston College, he spent twelve years as a professor in the Department of Engineering at James Madison University, after working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford’s Environmental Change Institute. His scholarship focuses on sustainable and resilient infrastructure systems, climate change adaptation and vulnerability assessment, and humanitarian technology for underserved communities in the Global South. His current active research includes developing models and approaches that support peace and resilience through climate adaptation with partners in Northern Kenya.
