Student-Athlete Development
Prepare to help student-athletes thrive with an online or hybrid Graduate Certificate in the fast-growing field of student-athlete development. Taught by leading professionals, the certificate’s four courses focus on supporting student-athletes on and off the field with skill sets in areas ranging from mental health and social work to diversity and inclusion. This certificate can be completed independently while working, and/or in combination with an M.S. in Sports Administration, M.A. in Higher Education, or Master of Social Work.
- Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the issues and challenges that student-athletes encounter. These include, but are not limited to, identity, transitions, student-athlete/coach relationships, diversity in sports, motivation, injury, academic issues, and student-athlete welfare.
- Students will be able to demonstrate the skills to think critically, to creatively problem-solve, and to manage issues through the context of student-athlete welfare.

Applicants whose undergraduate GPA falls below 3.0 will be considered for admission. Applications will be considered in light of other factors, including letters of reference and personal statement.
