Venture Capital & Private Equity Association
About
Founded in 2018, the Boston College Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (VCPE) is the university’s premier organization for students interested in the alternative investment industry. Guided by its three pillars of Educate, Connect, and Recruit, VCPE strives to make the fields of venture capital and private equity approachable and accessible to all students
At its core, VCPE is dedicated to education. Through workshops, speaker events, panels, and case competitions, the organization provides members with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to pursue careers in the industry. VCPE works to remove barriers that often prevent students from entering this field by offering clear and practical information about how to get started and succeed.
VCPE maintains an inclusive and welcoming community where all students are encouraged to participate. General meetings are open to everyone, and joining the mailing list grants general membership and access to The Buzz, a weekly newsletter featuring upcoming events, industry insights, and internship and job opportunities.
By combining professional development, accessibility, and community, VCPE empowers students to explore and enter the world of venture capital and private equity with confidence and curiosity.
Programming
The Shea Center’s Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (VCPE) hosts weekly events throughout the fall and spring semesters, focusing on teaching sessions designed to lower the barrier to entry for students interested in venture capital and private equity. These sessions introduce students to both industries and include technical workshops that dive into the details of each career path, ensuring members know what to expect and can approach their job search with confidence. In addition to educational programming, VCPE organizes speaker events and supports members in connecting with potential employers by circulating their résumés. Sample class topics include industry deep dives, investment strategies, valuation and returns, deal process, sourcing, and more. Educational events are held biweekly and are open to all Boston College students.

Members have the chance to compete in our annual Amity Ventures Sourcing Case Competition, as well as form teams to compete in other Boston College and local competitions. The club also hosts regular workshops for members to learn and practice skills such as LBO Modeling, Pitching, and Sourcing.
