Elaine M. Gatewood, MSW, LCSW is a part-time faculty member at the Boston College School of Social Work. She is a collaborative, strengths-focused, licensed clinician with clinical, teaching and management experience serving individuals with complex needs in a variety of settings. These settings include higher education, youth development, community mental health centers and residential facilities. She seeks to further student centered focus and practice in higher education that values person-centered care, clinical/social work excellence and professional development. Elaine demonstrated success-guiding organizations, teams and individuals in developing strengths and achieving meaningful goals.
Currently, Elaine serves as a student services manager at Year Up, an organization that empowers young adults through higher education and professional development. There, she provides counseling and support both one on one and in the classroom. She also serves as adjunct faculty at Bunker Hill Community College, teaching human services to students. In addition, Elaine is also an adjunct field advisor at Simmons University where she regularly guides social work students on career and internship placement.
Elaine has served in both program development, community organization and clinical capacities for youth and young adults across a diverse array of organizations including Brockton Juvenile Court and Randolph public schools.
