Dear Lynch School Community,
At last month’s Commencement, families, faculty, and friends of our newest alumni felt great pride as they acknowledged the graduates’ impressive accomplishments and anticipated their promising futures. Among the graduates were 30 Donovan Scholars—including Yazmine Navarro (pictured)—who each committed to teach in an urban school for at least three years.
At the Lynch School, we are looking forward to several new developments in the coming year, including a new practicum for undergraduates majoring in applied psychology and human development, and an addition to our leadership team.
The new practicum will give students an opportunity to connect their University experiences with processes in the world and the workplace, while engaged in service opportunities. It will be part of the broader Jesuit tradition of reflecting on experience and learning, discerning what is important, and determining what is worth doing.
The Lynch School also plans to hire an associate dean of strategic initiatives and external relations to serve as a strategist and advocate. This new leadership-team member will develop synergies between Lynch School programs inside and outside Boston College, develop new initiatives, and support existing programs.
